Mini Trampolines

Mini trampolines, as their name suggests are small versions of the full-size trampoline. A mini trampoline is, usually, an indoor device for exercise. Their inventor, Ed Russell, created the first model in 1938. There was little to no interest until 1977, when Al Carter created his version, the rebounder trampoline. As a result, “Rebounding” became an exercise fad from the 1980s to the 1990s.

Today, you can buy a mini trampoline from a number of suppliers and sources. They are, also, still touted as part of an exercise regime. Some mini trampoline sites offer advice on how to use a mini trampoline as well as provide you with a mini trampoline routine. You also see mini trampolines advertised as children’s trampolines. Some of them fold up or come in kits. Folding mini trampolines therefore, become portable toys for children and easily carried exercise equipment for adults.

A mini trampoline is small. It is portable. A mini trampoline, even a dubbel mini trampoline or double mini trampoline, is close to the ground. It only stands from nine to 11 inches from the ground or floor. Although round does seem to be the most common shape, it is also rectangular or square.

There are also many different models. There is the Nursery Trampoline, the Joey Trampoline, and the Child Sport Fit Trainer. The last of these types is the product of and American company, Texas Trampoline. Needak manufactures their version of the mini trampoline as well. They call it the Soft-Bounce Rebounder, while TP produce the TP Medium Junior Trampoline.

You may be an adult and use a tumbling trampoline or a double mini for exercise. You may be young child bouncing for fun. Whoever you are, remember a trampoline is not risk-free. A trampoline, even the smallest of them, is not harmless. Accidents take place, some of them serious.

To avoid accidents, follow a set procedure. Caution children on their usage. Advise them about what they can and cannot do. Do not let them jump on it unsupervised and never let more than two bounce upon the surface.

Take all safety precautions possible. This includes making sure exposed parts are covered and the nearby floor or ground has a soft covering to protect those who fall. Do not allow them to try any tricks on the mini trampoline. Most accidents on trampolines occur when an individual tries somersaults or twists.
