Trampoline Mats
A trampoline mat or trampoline bed is the flat surface attached to the metal frame by springs. Trampoline beds or trampoline mats are the surface upon which you leap up and down. They consist of different fibers or fibers woven together to give consistent bounce to the surface of the trampoline. The fibers may consist of plain tent material or a more durable substance. You can also commonly find a propylene mesh mat trampoline but not, probably, a fly bed trampoline.
Several companies produce specific types of mats or beds using their own process. Fun Spot boasts their “targeted weave” is capable of providing extra safety. The Trampoline Pro Shop provides different levels of material durability and strength. They construct normal, woven mats. If you desire or your purpose requires it, you can, upgrade to a stronger weave such as Performance Weave, Targetted Safety Fibers, Sun Shield or Duraclips. Trampoline Performance is more expensive. The fabric for the mat is made of black polypropylene. This is to provide the surface with increased bounce. Another option is the much touted string mats common in Europe and Australia. Springboards And More, a division of DIVE, Cincinnati, America, offers you this particular type of mat. Their Australian folding trampoline has an Aussie string bed and comes in 7’ by 14’. They also offer single polyblack beds in both 6’ x 12’ and 7’ x 14’ sizes. Another company offers trampolines in permatron. This is, according to them, a non-abrasive heavy thread. Be aware when you purchase a trampoline that some are for gymnastic purposes only.
